AeroPress Brew Guide
The AeroPress has become something of a phenomenon amongst coffee lovers and especially travelling ones, the AeroPress combines the best of several brewing methods into one. The control of a French Press, the cleanliness of a paper filter and the innovation of a reversible brewer. Follow our step by step instructions to have a go yourself.
What do you need to brew coffee with an AeroPress?
To brew coffee with an AeroPress you are going to need the following items:
- AeroPress
- Finely Ground Coffee
- AeroPress Filter
- Pouring Kettle
- Scales
- Timer
- Stirrer
Step by step AeroPress brew guide:
- Boil your kettle and let it rest for a minute or two until the water temperature drops to around 90°c.
- Pop a filter into the AeroPress cap, rinsing with hot water to help seal it and removing any papery taste.
- Turn the AeroPress upside down and insert the plunger, add your ground coffee into the AeroPress chamber and shake gently to level out the coffee.
- Start your timer and evenly pour 45ml of the hot water over the ground coffee, gently shake for 30 seconds.
- Pour over the remaining water in a circular motion and stir 5 - 6 times.
- Screw the cap and filter onto the AeroPress and leave to brew for one minute.
- Once the minute is up place the Aeropress over your favourite cup and carefully push down the inner chamber, serve.
