V60 Brew Guide
There is quite a range of pour over brew methods around these days and the V60 is one of our favourites. The V60 has become the Baristas choice in coffee bars all over the world and we certainly see why. Want to have a go yourself? Follow our step by step instructions.
What do you need to brew coffee with the V60?
You are going to need the following items to brew coffee with the V60:
- V60
- Medium Ground Coffee
- V60 Filter Paper
- Pouring Kettle
- Scales
- Measuring Spoon
- Serving Jug
- Stirrer
Step by step V60 brew guide:
- Boil your kettle and let it rest for a minute until the water temperature lowers to 94°c.
- Place a filter paper into your V60 and rinse carefully with hot water discarding the water afterwards.
- Place your V60 on top of your serving jug and add your medium ground coffee, around two tablespoons or 32g, shake gently until the coffee grounds are level.
- Place the V60 and serving jug onto the scales and set to zero.
- Pour in just enough water to cover the grounds (60ml should do it) pouring in circles to ensure all the coffee grounds are covered.
- Wait around 30 - 40 seconds to allow the coffee to “bloom” and any gasses to escape.
- Over the next few minutes pour over the remainder of the water taking care to pour slowly and in a circular motion.
- Stop pouring when your scales read 450ml, serve.
